Each municipality in the commonwealth is required to administer and enforce the rules of the Uniform Construction Code, (UCC) - Pennsylvania’s statewide building code. According to information on the state’s Department of Labor and Industry website, more than 90 percent of municipalities choose to do so locally either by contracting with a third-party inspector or by using staff members.
