 If you would like to report an issue with a property that has rubbish/junk/ high grass /abandoned or blighted structures/unlicensed vehicles, etc., please complete and return the form below to the borough office.

 Ordinance 487 Rental Property Administration 

 

Curwensville Borough Council adopted Ordinance 487 on October 14, 2019. Property owners will be required to register their rental units with the borough and be available for inspections when requested. An inspection checklist will be provided to all property owners.

Code enforcement will not be interfering in  tenant landlord disputes and will not be handling complaints not related to Curwensville Borough Code.

VacanT Property Review Board

Vacant Abandoned & Blighted Properties

 The Vacant Property Review Board was created in July 2020 to review vacant, abandoned , and blighted properties within the Borough. Each property presented to the Board is evaluated  and a determination is made based on the length of vacancy and the level of deterioration. 

Ordinance 490 Vacant Blighted & Abandoned Properties

 Ordinance 490 Vacant Blighted & Abandoned Properties was adopted on July 13, 2020.

 This ordinance provides for the registration of vacant properties; imposes duties upon property owners, sets an annual fee; and provides for inspections of such properties. It also creates a vacant property review board.

Ordinance 483 International Property Maintenance Code

In October of 2018 Curwensville Borough Council passed Ordinance 483 adopting the International Property Maintenance Code 2009 Edition.  

  

The International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) is a model code that regulates the minimum maintenance requirements for existing buildings.

The IPMC is a maintenance document intended to establish minimum maintenance standards for basic equipment, light, ventilation, heating, sanitation and fire safety. Responsibility is fixed among owners, operators and occupants for code compliance. The IPMC provides for the regulation and safe use of existing structures in the interest of the social and economic welfare of the community.
