Public Library

Est. 1968 ~ New Home since 1994

The Curwensville Public Library began operations in the late 1960s on a volunteer basis with the impetus of its formation from the Curwensville Woman’s Club.  It was housed in a number of locations on State Street in Curwensville from 1968 to 1974.  That year the Curwensville Public Library became a branch of the Clearfield County Public Library Federation and moved with them into three interconnected storefronts also on State Street.  This remained home until 1994 when the Curwensville Area Library Corporation completed construction on the building to house both libraries on Beech Street across from the school where the library is located today.

Today the Curwensville Public Library continues to offer services for the young (toddler time, story hour, summer reading, young adult area) to the not so young (large print books, books on tape, tax forms, senior safe driving classes).  In addition the library offer s public access computers, wireless internet access, e-books, a collection of DVDs, interlibrary loan and a collection featuring the best sellers of the day.

The Curwensville Public Library strives to offer the complete library experience to all its patrons.
